Why are people on the Dissident Right philosemitic?
Why are *some* people on the Dissident Right are philosemitic?
I decided to make a post about why some people on the DR worship Israel.
I won’t speak much about Jewish, Thiel-aligned or boomeresque type of people who are philo-semitic for well-known reasons. On one hand its self interest, on the other a blind worship of “God’s chosen people” (Deut. 14:2) supported by by fear in hell his disobeying God’s commands. Not a mystery.
This post will also not talk about liberal rightists, who for some reason believe that Israel is a WEIRDly liberal-democracy surrounded by evil jihadists who want it dead and similar nonsense. James Lindsay is not on the Dissident Right and so this perspective is not going to be seriously discussed in the article. What I will be discussing is a genuine philosemitic and zionist sentiment on the right.
I will be talking about those who have nothing to gain from being philosemitic. Their number is small, but nonetheless genuine. In this blog I explore the five main reasons for philosemitism and zionism on the right. Some of these arguments I challenge head on, others I let slit on purpose.

Counter-Signaling
The Dissident Right being the continuation of the Alt-Right exists as a form of counter culture to the mainstream right. However the Dissident Right itself forms a large enough space that has also formed a counter-culture to the broader narratives of the Dissident Right. They are in a sense a counter culture to the already existing counter-culture, and so to stay relevant they are counter signaling to the beliefs and narratives to the already existing counter-culture.
These people’s contributions to the movement is purely negative in a Hegelian sense, for they are attacking the Dissident Right’s positive contributions and assumptions not out of a necessity of ascending to a higher level via synthesis with the already existing positions and their anthesis, but because they don’t want the Dissident Right’s aspirations to succeed in any meaningful sense.
What these counter-signalers do is critique and laugh at the Dissident Right’s contributions without necessarily putting forward anything of their own, so that the dialectical process could not ascend to a higher level.
Israel is among many things that the Dissident Right cannot stand, and so logically they embrace Israel as a way to stick up to dumb rightoid chuds who are just incredibly stupid to not counter signal themselves.
The Banania-sphere (Richard Hanania and disciples) and the Talmudic Network (people like BAP, Captive Dreamer) are among those who have essentially made a career out of baiting dumb chuds into responding to tweets that argue something along the lines of “How I stopped worrying about demographics and I started loving Jews”
These people don’t necessarily have deep ideological principles and much like the Alt Right in its infancy have existed purely as a form of counter culture to whatever was dominant in their space.
However, it does not mean that sometimes these people can’t make good arguments. Take a moment to analyze this argument by Sean Last for instance:
There is a reason that a lot of people are naturally repelled by anti-semitism for it is associated with many conspiracy theories and cranks and so if you care about optics you would probably not intellectually associate with people like Jake Shields or Dan Bilzerian.
There is not much of a counter that I can give to Sean Last for I agree with his basic premise. At the same time, many within the Zionist and Jewish camp hold similar views but in reverse, a fact that figures like Sean Last have seemingly overlooked in recent years. Ultimately, however, this falls into the realm of "whataboutism." Intelligent observers who hear Dan Bilzerian discussing topics like the Holocaust, or Leather Apron Club delving on the IQ differences between Jews and non-Jews or another DR figure confidently asserting that Jews believe they are better than non-Jews are likely unaware of the existence of Jewish supremacists and fundamentalists who unironically do believe they are better than non-Jews, as well as share a ton of conspiratorial beliefs about Christianity or Arabs.
Because their only source of exposure to these facts are rightoids who also believe in conspiracy theories they dismiss them out of hand due to a genetic fallacy. As long as this perspective remains hidden, they will continue to perceive antisemites as the sole crazy ones, while in fact antisemites are only half of the crazy. The final half of the crazy is forbidden territory and for as long as it remains so, there won’t be a behavioral correction on behalf of those crazies.
Israel As A Model For Emulation
Most of the DR is made out of White Nationalists and the truly “in-your face” ethnostate in the world is the Jewish state of Israel. Regardless of what most White Nationalists may think of Israel or Jews, they typically learn about its nature before forming an opinion. The absolute majority walk away hating it because of Western Jewish double standards of supporting an ethnostate for Jews but forbidding one for Whites, a minority walks away with an impression that (1) Whites exist in a similar state as Jews existed prior to the founding of Israel and (2) Israel is a functional modern ethnostate whose policies can be emulated. Let Richard Spencer make the case for me:
