Why though would it go into this hyper capitalist way? If the AI is smarter and more efficient then even the most augmented and improved human, wouldnt productivity loose meaning? Society might reach post scarcity and since the ppl making AI are woke and trying very hard to make it woke, the coming AI might just have as its aim a woke world order, trying to shape humans into something that would thrive in woke morality.....We might just as well see an end to competition and a rise of a society of endless pleasure for its own sake.
As if the various elites of this new AI world would be on board with shaping/neutering themselves in this way rather than selecting for what is eugenic/optimal/competitive for their children even if they purport to be 'woke'.
There is still so much to fight over in a post scarcity world, you can always have more status, love at someone elses expense, or fight over meaning philosophy etc, pleasure too has no real limits..

I’m skeptical people will be down to hand over their wealth like this. Why would citizens own share of automated businesses like Amazon but not of their local bakery next door which would also be fully AI run?

Yes but owning shares and equity of large businesses prevents techno-feudalism (David Shapiro post-labor economics), most income will be equity shares, sovereign wealth funds, and UBI in post-labor era
